PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY

The psychophysiology laboratory is an important area within the Faculty of Psychology at the UANL. But not many know him, and those that may not have a clear idea of all functions and activities performed in it. For this reason I decided to investigate a little more, and thanks to Dr. Candelaria Ramirez and Teodoro Hernandez Cedeño, who provided me with the laboratory data, could gather the information necessary for editing this issue.

Objective
The Psychophysiology Laboratory has two main objectives
 • As teaching laboratory, the objective is to design, deliver and evaluate practices for students in the subjects of biological bases of behavior and psychophysiology.
 • As Research Laboratory, the goal is to promote the development of the original lines of inquiry raised by teachers and instructors of the Laboratory.

Activities done
 • Support teachers with practical matters of biological bases of behavior and Psychophysiology.
 • Development of research projects on issues of psychophysiology, chronobiology and neuropsychology. In these involve undergraduates from 1 ° to 10 ° semester, master's and doctoral degrees.
 • Training of trainers, teachers and researchers in the area of Psychophysiology

Service provided to students
 • Supporting students in the practical matters of Biological Bases of behavior and psychophysiology.
 • Education Research in Psychophysiology, by involving students in all stages of research projects, from data collection to dissemination at conferences, books, national and international.

Coordination of Psychophysiology Laboratory
The Tule Dr. Maria Candelaria Ramirez has been the coordinator of the laboratory in recent years, has worked on the research lines psychophysiology, behavioral chronobiology and neuropsychology, and has numerous publications related to these topics. However, due to administrative change was in college, is still pending appoint people who will stay on as coordinator of the laboratory. On the other hand Dr. Pablo Valdez Ramírez has been the Director of projects and theses in the laboratory, several of these are about circadian rhythms, among others. In 2009 he published a book entitled "Chronobiology. Psychophysiological responses to time. "

How to become part of the research team?
Any student of the faculty, be of any semester undergraduate or graduate is invited to join the research team. It is only necessary to go to the lab and talk to the coordinator, or with any person in charge, and learn about current projects in which they can participate. The only requirements are to have commitment to the laboratory, to meet a schedule and be consistent, in addition to having lots of interest and passion for research.

Research that has made
many investigations have been made in the psychophysiology laboratory and its main objective. Even some publications have been cited laboratory by other authors. These are just some of the research topics that have been made.

In October 2009, several laboratory researchers were invited by the American Association of Chronobiology and Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in Natal, Brazil, where they participated in poster presentations, workshops, symposiums and conferences. Several of these investigators are undergraduates, masters and doctorate, and will soon participate in the congress of the International Neuropsychological Society, Acapulco, Mexico.
